About

As per the name of this blog, my name is Mary Elizabeth Tait. I understand that just stating my name doesn't really tell you about me, but I figured it was a good place to start. Honestly, I don't think the About page will give an accurate impression of who (or what) I am. I could be a cyborg for all you know. The best way to learn more about me would be to get off this page and read some of my posts. They depict what my hobbies are, who my family is, my childhood memories, my hopes, dreams, and quite possibly the answer to life itself.

Okay, maybe not that last one.

Well if you're going to continue on this page, I will try to give you an overview of who I am.

My hobbies started with writing anything and everything I could think of. I loved daydreaming of princes, castles, and danger, then gluing them to the page. This was before I owned my own computer, so I wrote everything out by hand. It was only years later that I realized the reason I loved writing stories so much was because I loved to practice writing. Handwriting.

After this realization, I got caught up in calligraphy. It's definitely a work in progress. I just love the instant gratification that calligraphy gives me. Instant because I don't have to edit the life out of a novel, although, it is slow in getting the results that I want. Like with everything, I need to practice practice practice...

Then one day I learned of the beauty and simplicity of bookbinding. I'll tell ya, those YouTube holes we dig ourselves into can be miraculous sometimes. If you're interested, SeaLemon has the most amazing tutorials on multiple styles of bookbinding. I'll probably link some of her videos in my posts on bookbinding.

Anyway, the moral of telling you this is that even though my interests and style may seem scatterbrained, there is a reason for all of them. Maybe that just makes me a scatterbrained person.

You decide.
